The Magic of Gliding
In the summer of 2015 I took the decision to start glider-flying. I experienced so many beautiful moments, some of which are shown in this video. This was a big step towards my goal to become a commercial pilot. I am currently (2017) in the final stage before hopefully receiving my wings as a CPL-holder with MEP and IR.

Flying around in a DH 114 Heron. Touch n go at 12:00 This individual has quite a story to tell. This specific aircraft was built in 1954 and first delivered to Turkey registrated as TC-HAS. Just one year later it was moved to the US. There it flew for Wright Airlines in Cleveland, OH. It then started flying for Swift Aire between Los Angeles and San Francisco. In 1983 it was bought by Seagull A...

How did you m@ke this please send me the video please
The level of how stupidly dangerous this was,.... AMAZING! Love everthing about this, hope you blokes graduated in to the aerospace industry, more folks willing to have a go and experiment are what the world needs.
Hehe cool, ghetto jet :) you might want to simulate the design in something like solidworks so the compressions and temperatures are right. Then you can metal 3D print the ducting for it.
If you use this with very slow speed, what will it sound like? Try it please.
This is a blower
Hi this engein is wrong working

THAT IS **NOT** A JET ENGINE!!! It's a whirly-ass hooba-joo with a kid blowing compressed air into one end and another kid lighting vapors at the other. The flames are not doing anything at all; only the compressed air makes it spin.
Look at the pinned comment.
Sorry, the top comment.
@@Ajokeiguess You know that your top comment is different from mine, yes?
@@adamchurvis1 no, top comment means most liked comment, it is by far the most liked comment, so yes, just click top comments and it will contain the answer to your questions. But I’ll give you the basics, this is a jet engine, it’s not a brilliant thing made by a professional, it was made by some high school kids doing a project, it’s not self sustaining yet it managed to melt the metal inside, which is rather impressive, with some more modifications this will be able to work without compressed air.
@@Ajokeiguess No, my friend -- Top Comment puts any of your own comments FIRST, and THEN it puts the most popular comments according to both rank by votes and a little UA-camy Voodoo. And no, this is NOT a jet engine. If it cannot run unassisted then it fails the most basic test for being qualified as an "Engine."
Det här passar ju perfekt, flygdagen är ju nästa helg, så om jag lär mig kanske jag kan ta en runda runt flygfältet Näää, jag bara skojar, 15-åringar får inte flyga, tror jag.
Quit the compressed air line and run on fuel...
It’s used to start it.
Mentira....
Herons arrived with the gypsy engines them were replaced for continental engines job done in opa locka airport north of miami.
These guys dont sync the props ugly sound of props.
Syncing four props has got to be 10x harder than just two. Every time you make a power change.
PRINAIR (Puerto Rico Intnal Airlines) we had about 18 or 20 Herons I flew it for years until prinair went out of business in 1985.
Great sound!
kompresor pompa ban
maaf lobang Tenga kegedean angin gak ngumpul
3 minutes of music to my ears
The fuel consumption must be tremendous. Hard to justify the economics of running them payload/range.
I remember watching this video so long ago.I do plan on building a really tiny jet engine with around a 3cm diameter.JohnnyQ90 did it, and I'm gonna try it as well. Edit: I found a fence pole that has a large inner diameter.I'll use that instead.
I did it as a kid, fun project.
You're about to, NOT Your about to
Awesome project, I love this
You guys had to add gas
I wish my big brother was alive to see this. He was always testing the limits of engineering. Great video!
What the video dramatically fails to caption is that moment the tow plane lets go and you go from noise to just the sound of rushing wind past the canopy. Something every glider pilot remembers their first time. BTW, hello from the Mentour Aviation app.
Love hearing the growls of those 150 hp Lycomings.
At last! Someone who knows the difference between an axial fan and a jet, lol. Nice design, looks like it was fun.
Sk60B grind :)))))))))))))
Hi guys, I'm from Kenya, I'm also an engineering student at kabete polytechnic. I'm currently working on a turboshaft /gas turbine. I wish to know. Which materials did you use. Cause I'm using cast iron sheets and it seems hard to work on.
any1 else here have this in their recommended after war thunder announced this plane?
dude i went up and searched for it
Yeah, I’m excited since we get to have another Swedish aircraft :D Also, Viggen is confirmed, it’s in the works!!!
Who is here from War thunder
Was searching for a comment like this my recommendations knows what games I’m playing and they are getting really accurate
Yes im from the mythical D point
playing Star Citizen now...
Some of this type are still in use in Austria and will fly in a 4- formation above vienna on the 26th of october as part of the military showblock. Its our national holyday and people should stay at home, for security reasons 😷 or 🤕? Just joking 😆
hey was wondering if you could point me in the right direction for the plans so that I may build for a school project as well please and thank you very neat
Air compression ratios are the hardest part to get
Without stator, so, dont work
1000s of german ww2 scientists and billions off dollars, vs some kid in his garage
Keep up your enthusiasm be more inquisitive it will only progress to your final destination.
No compressed no thrust
As a Physics and Chemistry Teacher, I am impressed with the work those lads did. It's just high school so it is good enough..👍✌️
its just a flame thrower.... u just make those enigine noise just by blowing air into one of the blade
Do not stand behind the engine.. it can harm u
Those rotary compressor wheels won't be found in a supermarket or ''around the house'' (& I have nearly everything in my house). Where could they be found & is this engine powerful enough to use on a homebuilt aircraft or is it only for looking at? I see all these jet engines people have built, yet I haven't seen a single one actually used to power something. Pretty disappointing.
i think the fuel system, control system, .etc would be too heavy and complex for a homemade aircraft(I assume you been RC and not something someone actually sits in)
How are the improvements. Think they are tons ahead of this by now.
How you control the fuel ??
What type of motor does it have
Ignitor from a lawn mower?....am i missing something?
You Guys Rock!!!
Mom: I bought you some Lego sets! Me: Builds this engine and tries to blow mosquitoes away
While it s realy primitive, it is fun and just a nice engine
